Our Practice Areas

How Can We Help You?

Steiner Ranch sits at the intersection of ambition and natural beauty, where hill-country views, top-rated Leander ISD schools, and Lake Austin frontage draw professionals who have built something worth protecting. Robbins Estate Law works with these families from our River Place office, roughly five miles from the RM 620 corridor, offering in-person strategy sessions, document signings, and the transparent flat fees Steiner Ranch residents deserve.

Asset Protection

Business owners and remote professionals along the RM 620 corridor face real liability exposure that a standard estate plan does not address. Domestic Asset Protection Trusts and Series LLCs can shield lake property, rental homes near Quinlan Park Road, and business assets from creditor claims while preserving your control. We also coordinate LLC titling with your primary Steiner Ranch residence and any vacation property, ensuring entity structure and estate documents work as a unified system rather than conflicting silos.

Wills & Trusts

A will sets out your wishes but still passes through Travis County probate, a public, court-supervised process that can take months. A revocable living trust transfers your Steiner Ranch home, lake property, or investment accounts directly to beneficiaries without court involvement. We draft both documents, fund the trust properly, and coordinate beneficiary designations on retirement accounts so every asset reaches the right person on your timeline, all at a transparent flat fee.

Inheritance & Estate Tax

High-value homes in Bella Montagna, lake-view estates, and concentrated investment portfolios can push a Steiner Ranch estate toward federal tax exposure. Irrevocable life insurance trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, and charitable strategies reduce taxable estate values while keeping assets productive during your lifetime. We review the current federal exemption limits with every client and build plans that remain sound even if Congress revisits those thresholds in coming years.

Special Needs Planning

A family member with a disability can lose essential government benefits if an inheritance is titled incorrectly. We draft third-party special needs trusts that hold assets for a loved one's benefit without disqualifying them from Medicaid or SSI. For Steiner Ranch families, this planning often pairs with a broader revocable living trust so that all beneficiaries, those with and without disabilities, receive their inheritance through a coordinated, privately administered structure.

Guardianship

Steiner Ranch is a community of growing families, and naming a guardian for minor children is one of the most urgent tasks a parent can complete. Without a valid nomination in your will, a Travis County court decides who raises your children. We also prepare medical and financial powers of attorney for parents and adult children, so that a trusted person can step in immediately if illness or incapacity strikes before a plan is in place.

Business Succession

Dual-income professional households and business owners near the UT Golf Club corridor often have equity in a closely held company that represents a significant share of family wealth. A buy-sell agreement, family limited partnership, or properly drafted succession plan keeps that equity transferring on your terms. We coordinate business succession documents with your personal estate plan so the two strategies reinforce each other rather than create unintended tax or ownership conflicts.

The Robbins Difference

Not Your Typical Law Firm.

Estate planning here divides along two clear lines. Young families in Parkside at Steiner Ranch or Long Champ need guardian nominations and funded trusts that keep Travis County courts out of decisions about their children. Owners of high-value homes in Bella Montagna, The Bluffs at Steiner Ranch, or along Lake Travis need revocable living trusts that transfer property privately, avoiding the Travis County probate process entirely. Both situations demand precise, locally grounded legal work, and that is exactly what our team provides at a price you can see before you sign anything.

Courtroom Tested

Unlike forms-only services, we actively litigate in Travis County probate and civil courts. We know how legal documents are challenged in a courtroom setting, so we draft your estate plan specifically to withstand scrutiny and succeed.

Transparent Flat Fees

No surprise bills. We believe in value-based pricing, providing you with a clear, upfront investment for your estate plan so you can focus on your family’s future rather than billable hours.

Meet The Founder

Kyle Robbins, Esq.

"What Makes Me Uniquely Qualified To Serve Your Family?"

Growing up in a farming family taught me two things above all else: the value of hard work and the importance of protecting family, no matter what. Those lessons have guided me throughout my career and inspire the way we serve our clients today.

After graduating from Oklahoma State University, I spent several years building a successful family business with my father. This hands-on experience gave me insight into the complexities and emotions involved in planning for your family's future. Motivated by a desire to help others secure peace of mind, I earned my law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.

Estate planning became deeply personal when my first child was born. Creating our family's estate plan brought me tremendous relief and confidence, knowing my loved ones were secure. I founded Robbins Estate Law to provide that same peace of mind and security to other families.

As the founder of one of Texas's leading estate planning firms, I've helped thousands of families navigate traditional and high net worth estate planning, probate, and estate tax matters. Our firm prides itself on compassionate guidance, transparent pricing, and personalized support at every step.

"Steiner Ranch clients often come in thinking a simple will is enough. Once we map out the Travis County probate process, the value of a funded living trust becomes obvious, especially for families with lakefront property or young children who need a named guardian today, not after a crisis."  Kyle Robbins, Esq.

Common Questions (FAQ)

The federal estate tax applies only above a substantial per-person exemption, which is currently elevated but subject to change by Congress. Many Steiner Ranch estates, particularly those combining a high-value hill-country home, Lake Austin frontage, and significant investment accounts, can approach or exceed that threshold for married couples with combined assets. We review your full picture and use trust structures and gifting strategies to manage exposure before the law shifts.

Yes. Holding rental or lake property inside a properly structured LLC or Series LLC separates that asset from your personal finances, limiting creditor reach to the entity rather than your home or savings. Texas Series LLCs are particularly efficient for owners with multiple properties near Quinlan Park Road or along Lake Travis. We draft the entity documents, coordinate deed transfers, and align the structure with your overall estate plan so nothing falls through the gaps.

A Section 1301 Management Trust, authorized under the Texas Estates Code, is a court-supervised trust used to manage assets for a beneficiary who cannot manage them independently, including a minor or an incapacitated adult. It differs from a privately drafted special needs trust in that it requires ongoing court oversight. Steiner Ranch families typically encounter this vehicle when an inheritance arrives unexpectedly without a pre-existing trust in place. We evaluate whether a private or court-supervised structure better fits your family's situation.

Texas uses an income cap for certain Medicaid long-term care programs, meaning applicants whose monthly income exceeds the current limit must use a Qualified Income Trust, sometimes called a Miller Trust, to qualify. This cap applies regardless of assets and can catch families off guard when a parent or spouse needs skilled nursing care. We incorporate Medicaid eligibility analysis into special needs and elder care planning so Steiner Ranch families are not forced into crisis decisions at the worst possible moment.

Naming your estate as a beneficiary routes that asset through Travis County probate, negating the privacy and speed advantages of beneficiary-designated accounts. For a Steiner Ranch family with a revocable living trust, the correct move is usually to name the trust, not the estate, as beneficiary for life insurance, and to follow IRS rules for retirement accounts separately. A mismatched designation can also compress required minimum distribution schedules, creating an unnecessary income tax burden for your heirs.

We do not publish neighborhood-specific client counts, but Robbins Estate Law has handled thousands of cases across Texas, including a substantial number of families and property owners throughout Northwest Austin and the RM 620 corridor. Our River Place office was chosen in part because of the concentration of clients in communities like Steiner Ranch, and the work we do there consistently covers the guardian nominations, living trusts, and lake-property planning that define this area's estate planning needs.

Yes. Our River Place office at 6500 River Place Blvd, Building 7, Suite 250, Austin, TX 78730, sits approximately five miles from the Steiner Ranch community. Steiner Ranch clients are welcome to come in for strategy sessions, will and trust signings, and follow-up reviews without a long drive into central Austin. We also offer virtual meetings for clients who prefer them, but in-person access close to home is one of the practical advantages of working with our firm.
